Deadbaby Weekend - Aug 7-9th
IT IS ON! We are playing Bike Porn 3: Cycle Bound in Seattle during Deadbaby Weekend! To have our program of sexy bike art be recognized by such a historic event (thirteen years running) is terribly exciting for us. Anyone who wants to have a freaky good time should be in Seattle, WA August 7-9th.Freaky good because:
- There are many freak bikes
- There are many freak bikers
- There are many opportunities to mosey around with your pants around your ankles (if you were moving quickly it would be streaking, but sometimes we choose to go so f'n slow)
At this time it is not known if the Dead Baby Bicycle club has a unstated agenda for limiting the numbers of tiny humans. Could their agenda for infanticide be hidden in plain sight? peculation for why they are called the Deadbabies:
- raise an army of zombie babies (seen below)
- less competition for limited resources
- freak out the squares
- confound the circles
- cheer them up since all the good bike club names were already taken
- demonstrate their brutality
- enrage the xtian right
What is known is that on the 1st Friday of every month the Dead Babies have their monthly ride. Anyone on a bicycle can join and lots of people ride mutant bikes. It is fun! On the 1st Friday of August they host the Dead Baby Downhill. A race though the city to "the greatest party known to human kind".
But that, dear readers is just Friday night. Take a moment to understand what it means to your body to abuse it for an entire 72 hours.

...
KEEP WAITING JERKFACE!
YES! We are using white space to try and impress upon you the magnitude. This is the Dead Babies' 13th annual weekend of extraordinary bike danger/stupidity/sexiness/fun. This blog may have some gaps in its logic, but that is nothing when compared to the future gaps in your memory.
Lucky for you we have this handy list of activities!
Friday

- 6pm Modest binge drinking at the Comet Tavern and Exhibition bike polo next door @ Cal Anderson Park.
- 7pm race across Seattle with great indifference to human life (See possible motivations for Deadbabies above).
- 8pm enjoy endless quantity of beer. (cause you registered, right?)
- 9pm pass out in a pool of (hopefully) your own body fluid, unaware that bands and performances have begun.

- 11pm wake up in time to stumble into the path of the tall bike joust finale.
- 12am released from hospital with mild concussion and critical tongue lashing.
- 1am remember that ticket they gave you at the start is redeemable for BBQ food
- 2am with new found energy and confidence (and maybe a helmet?) you find
yourself riding on a pedal powered amusement park ride courtesy of Cyclecide. - 3am Unsure about how you got there you decide to passout in stranger's hot tub.
Stay tuned for our predictions about Saturday and Sunday events!

Bring Porn Home
Tonight, Jan 2nd we are having the 1st ever public screening of The Pornography of the Bicycle in a private residence.

Our friend Pasture Ted has arranged for a nice spacious domicile at 732 N Street in the Platinum Bike City of Davis, CA. I'm looking forward to seeing 1st hand how much better it is than biking in Portland. I hear their cops still give out lights to bikers without them, so maybe i will get lucky.
Regardless this is a unique opportunity to experience these programs in a very intimate setting. Maybe I will talk for a bit afterward, or maybe I will get run out of town.
Thursday, January 3rd we screen our bike porn in San Francisco at the Roxie. Everyone's eyes light up when i say that so the theater must be pretty good.
We also got some sweet gifts from our friends at Good Vibrations. A book on masturbation a couple cockrings and more!
I want to thank Cyclecide for hosting the best NYE party I've been to in a while. Good people, good performances and no cover! I love me some free fun!

Countdown to Calipornification

I have abandoned my Portland bike mecca to take up arms (and legs) in the heart of car culture. Los Angeles! A fierce combination of cyclists are assisting me with the Bike Calipornification Tour.
We are hitting all the biggest, baddest, cycle-horniest places south of Portland on this tour: LA, SF, and CG*
One of the most exciting part for me is getting to meet some of the people who submitted videos. Both Paul de Carcass of the SFVISBF and Colin Arlen of Macaframa who co produced the San Francisco Track Bike video will get to see the entire program for the first time.
We are very thankful for our supporters who remind us that our bodies and our bikes need lots of love.
A variety of sponsors is helping to make this evening even more special... that is to say there is some cool stuff you might get just for showing up:
UPDATE: OH CRAP! I ALMOST FORGOT
screenings in Santa Cruz? Dubious. In Davis, CA? Likely! Bike Porn Radio interview New Years Day @ 5:15 PM with Pastor Ted.
*CG... as in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Duh.

- A display of too sexy bicycles, Merry Saddles is strutting its stuff.
- One of the longest running, women operated sex stores in the country Good Vibrations is helping us shake it up in San Francisco.
- Ashira of Red Riding Hood Productions has some hats.
- Liz and Shay of C.I.C.L.E. are providing tshirts
- Babeland has recently opened a new store in LA and is pulling out all the stops!
UPDATE: OH CRAP! I ALMOST FORGOT
- Orange 20 bikes will support the cause with some of their fine wares
- Jen Diamond has stepped up to provide one of her handmade Jerseys

Bumbershoot my pants off!

i heart Seattle, and its not cause anything here is all that great, but damn i got some nice fucking friends up in this jam.
Bumbershoot is the most commercial thing i have been to since... uh Disnyland (circa 1996?). But luckily a bunch of dirty bikers (myself and many fine Deadbabies) along with the Cyclecide Bike Rodeo from SF we have made folks scream with delight. They even got on the cover of Seattle's daily.
Everyone seems to know about Bike Porn already. Will The Trucks perform in Bellingham? Will there be a second screening in Seattle? Will we even find a venue in Olympia?
so many questions, so little pork.
